Welcome to the Lake Minnewaska Marina website - just west of the Lakeside Ballroom! Do you enjoy fishing, skiing or just a relaxing day on the lake, but don't own a lake home? With this NEW marina, you can have all of the benefits of living on the beautiful shores of Lake Minnewaska without all of the work!
First 24 slips are being sold at $7500 per slip ($1000 deposit required)
With a purchase of a slip, you become a member of The Lake Minnewaska Marina Owners Association. The Association is governed by a Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and a Marina Management Plan approved by the City of Glenwood.
The Association has been granted a 30-year lease (2013-2042) from the City of Glenwood, with the potential of two additional 30-year leases.
The Lake Minnewaska Marina Owners Association will be required to obtain a Marina License annually from the City of Glenwood. Renew depends on the marina’s ability to follow the Management Plan, together with the rules/regulations and conditions of the DNR Marina Permit to the City of Glenwood. The renewal of the annual license is similar to process an establishment that serves liquor must go through. The renew process requires the marina to follow all established city and state guidelines.
Each spring, every attempt will be made to have the docking system installed by May 1st. Removal of the system will be approximately mid to the end of September. Due to spawning, it is the association’s responsibility to work with the DNR when installing.
The “Wave Break” is optional and currently not planned for Phase I. This change was made due to information gathered from various dock experts regarding how the majority of boat and dock damage is the result of the wind, not waves. In addition, the requirement of lifts will get boats up and out of the water, even more so, lessening the need for the wave break.
For renters who are considering the purchase of a slip (long term lease), the association will provide a $500 credit towards the purchase of a slip for each year a slip is rented at the going rate (max of 2 years/$1000). Note; the install/removal fee of $225 is a “base rate”. Contact Casey Boutain, Marina Manager, with additional questions regarding the fee. Individual liability insurance is still required.
Lastly, be sure to consult the marina Cliff Notes, Annual Costs and association documents which can be provided upon request.
